Art Gallery Squid was made as part of a 2017 TATE Exchange residency in collaboration with Arvon, The Writing Squad and Hive. It is a playful response to Phillippe Parreno's 'Anywhen' installation in the Turbine Hall of TATE Modern, which featured a short film of a cuttlefish. Squid takes from discourses of art gallery blurb and academia, inserting an autonomous squid into the realm of human language.
Content to enjoy the space of failed 'true' representation of the animal, Squid features pictures of these sea creatures, drawn by the general public. Watch and listen below.
