HERE AND NOW is part of LIT UP 2017/Hull City of Culture. Writers Lydia Marchant, Georgia Affonso and myself created short plays around little known histories of the East Riding, such as Hornsea Pottery and Radio 107. Mine responded to archival material on historical whale strandings near the Humber and along the coastline, and was performed at the site of Burton Constable Hall (home of a sperm whale skeleton that inspired Herman Melville).
Directed by John Godber OBE, who contributed a final piece threading the stories together, HERE AND NOW toured libraries across the region, starring Katie Huntsman, Annie Kirkman and Laura Aramayo. See press.
